President's Message

A new season awaits!
With each season and every performance, Omaha Performing Arts strives to meet its mission: to provide this region with the highest level of performing arts events – and to create an impact that remains long after each audience member has left the venue. Every time the house lights dim and the stage lights brighten, it is our goal to create that "wow" moment for you… to "spark something inside."
I’m proud to announce that the third season of Omaha Performing Arts Presents is filled with incredible performances, including the stunning Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre on its 50th anniversary tour; master violinist and former prodigy, Midori; television, stage and movie entertainer Mandy Patinkin; the incredible New Orleans Jazz Orchestra; the 2007 Grammy® Award winner for children’s music, Dan Zanes; the 2005 Tony Award®-winning musical Monty Python’s Spamalot and a New Year’s Eve Celebration featuring Chris Botti, one of the hottest trumpeters today.
In order to respond to requests for more flexibility, we’re also excited to offer a new subscription option, the Á La Carte series. A choose-your-own series, it’s the perfect option for those with a wide array of interests and a busy schedule who still want to enjoy the benefits of being a subscriber.
With such a wide variety of performances, both of our venues will be busier than ever. The Holland Performing Arts Center continues to attract audiences and inspire performers. And we have a special season planned for Omaha’s cherished Orpheum Theater as we celebrate its 80th anniversary. Among the special performances and events planned is the return of audience favorite, Phantom of the Opera. Please join us for the celebration!
There will be more to come later in the 2007-2008 season when we announce the artists for the 1200 Club at the Holland in the Scott Recital Hall. In the meantime, we invite you to join us for another outstanding season – one that offers incredible performance options. Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you at the Holland and the Orpheum.
Sincerely,
Joan H. Squires President, Omaha Performing Arts
