History

Named in recognition of a leadership gift provided by Richard and Mary Holland, the Holland Performing Arts Center was built to host the finest in local, national, and international performing artists, as well as to serve as the site of various education and outreach activities for the Omaha community.

Omaha now has one of the country’s best-sounding new concert halls.

Located on the corner of 13th and Douglas Streets in downtown Omaha, the Holland Center was designed with three principle priorities in mind:
  • To build a concert hall with exceptional acoustical abilities
  • To construct a facility that draws the community into the arts
  • To achieve a "building of distinction" that will last for generations

The Holland Center design team was led by the local architectural firm HDR in collaboration with Polshek Partnership Architects ( New York). They were joined by acoustic consultants Kirkegaard Associates (Chicago), and theater consultants Fisher Dachs Associates (New York).
