Astrobiologist and National Geographic Emerging Explorer Kevin Hand searches for life beyond Earth—taking him to some of the most extreme environments to study how life can persist under hostile conditions. He has conducted studies on the glaciers of Mount Kilimanjaro, the valleys of Antarctica, and in 2012 joined director James Cameron’s team on his historic dive into the Mariana Trench, the deepest place on the planet.

The 1200 CLUB performances are held at the Suzanne and Walter Scott Recital Hall. On performance nights, the Scott Recital Hall at the Holland Center is transformed into a comfortable nightclub with table seating, light fare and a full bar. This is the 1200 CLUB—a showcase of the best comedy, jazz, rock and soul artists. Preview the club's menu. The 1200 CLUB opens one hour prior to show start times.
