La Bamba (PG-13) and Marcos & Sabor

Lou Diamond Phillips leaves a haunting impression as the late 1950s pop idol Ritchie Valens, who made the Latino influence in rock & roll conspicuous through his hit songs. It’s a nimble, exciting, and sympathetic portrait of the boy driven to rise above obstacles of race and family legacy.

Marcos & Sabor will dish out Latin rhythms mixed with modern pop and a hint of Santana. This event is in celebration of the South Omaha Arts Institute on their 20th anniversary!

Young Frankenstein (PG) and Chris Saub

With comedy highlights too numerous to mention, Mel Brooks guides a brilliant cast – from Gene Wilder to Gene Hackman – through scene after scene of inspired hilarity, when Frederick Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) rather reluctantly resumes experiments in re-animation pioneered by his late father – resulting in a monstrously wicked comedy you won’t soon forget!

Chris' latest 5 piece creation dips into multiple genres; Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll and Jam Band to give listeners a "Feel Good" musical expeience. From toe tapping upbeat songs to head swaying slow grooves, there's a little bit of everything sure to please a variety of musical fancies.

If you love Young Frankenstein the film, don't miss the Broadway production of the new Mel Brooks musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, spring 2011 at the Orpheum!
