August is Family Fun Month – it’s celebrated throughout the month, encouraging families to enjoy fun activities together. I don’t know about you, but I think every month should be Family Fun Month. Yes? No? Absolutely.

Family time is so important. I’m a mom – and I know it’s hard to squeeze in special moments into our busy schedules sometimes. School’s back in session and calendars are already filling up fast. Before the year gets too busy, plan a night out with your family. I’ve rounded up our picks for events people of all ages can enjoy together. Many of these shows also have earlier start times, and that means no bedtime interference. See, I got you!

iLuminate | October 6 | Orpheum Theater
Lights on lights on lights! This fall show from our Family Series combines technology and dancing in an eye-popping performance. Dancers wear suits covered in wireless lights and perform in complete darkness. Fun, right?

WildKratts-2

Wild Kratts Live 2.0! | November 16 | Orpheum Theater
They’re back! Brothers Martin and Chris Kratt return to Omaha with Wild Kratts Live 2.0 based on the hit PBS Kids TV show where they transform into superheroes to save creatures big and small. Kids went bonkers for the brothers in 2016/2017. This is a real treat for any child who loves the TV show or a good adventure.

Have you been to one of our National Geographic Live events? Leading scientists, explorers and photographers bring the wonders of the world right here to Omaha. Biologist turned photographer Ronan Donovan is first up in the series sharing his love of documenting the social behaviors of animals. The best part? There’s a Q&A at the end. Your curious little one can ask Donovan questions about his wild adventures – and you can, too!
