Brian d’Arcy James is a celebrated actor on stage and on screen. 

He’s received three Tony Award® nominations for his on-stage performances as Nick Bottom in the hit musical SOMETHING ROTTEN!, as Shrek in SHREK THE MUSICAL and as Sidney Falco in SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS. He originated the role of King George in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s HAMILTON off-Broadway and later starred in the Broadway production.

He currently stars in the Netflix series “13 Reasons Why.” In 2016, he won numerous awards for his portrayal of Matt Carroll in the 2016 Best Picture Oscar-winning film “Spotlight” starring opposite Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams. He’s also appeared in Aaron Sorkin’s “Molly’s Game,” Stephen King’s “1922” and “Silent Man” starring Liam Neeson.

Upcoming projects include the much-anticipated film “First Man,” directed by Damien Chazelle opposite Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, Jason Clarke and Kyle Chandler.

Funds raised from Broadway Ball support Omaha Performing Arts’ Education and Community Engagement programs. Over the past 10 years, OPA has reached more than 50,000 people through Broadway master classes, artist talkbacks, community forums and educational opportunities. OPA looks forward to continuing those programs and offering new initiatives to reach new audiences.
